SUMMER EMPLOYMENT - RESIDENTIAL DEPARTMENT

During Riverview’s summer program, July 1st through August 10th. Looking for candidates with maturity, initiative, flexibility, trustworthiness, and a positive, proactive, student-oriented style. $10.10-$13.00 per hour (meals provided while on shift; limited staff housing available).  Positions available include Dormitory Assistant, Permanent Sub, Morning Resource Assistant, After School Assistant. 

DORMITORY ASSISTANTS AND PERMANENT SUB-SUMMER    

Requirements:  Ability to work in a spirited, fast-paced setting providing residential and recreational services to adolescents and young adults with special needs. Current valid driver's license and CORI clearance required.  Duties:  Work with veteran staff providing direct and ongoing supervision, support, and instruction to all assigned students, while assisting in the coordination of day-to-day operations of a dormitory; Assist in providing a highly-structured and therapeutic dormitory environment designed to promote adolescent normalization while stressing the tenets of preventive discipline and positive reinforcement conducive to meeting the individual and collective needs of assigned students relative to their unique learning styles, social needs, and the fostering of independent living skills. 

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ORIENTATION, OPENING AND CLOSING DAYS:

Monday and Tuesday, July 1 & 2:  Orientation & Training, 8am to 4 pm

Sunday, July 7:  Opening Day 

Friday, August 9:  Closing Day: 

Saturday, August 10:  Closedown Day

Sunday to Wednesday Shift:

Sunday 9am-10pm

Monday Noon-10pm

Tuesday Noon-10pm

Wednesday Noon-5pm

   OR

Wednesday to Saturday Shift:

Wednesday 5pm-10pm

Thursday Noon-10pm

Friday Noon-10pm

Saturday 9am-10pm

MORNING RESOURCE ASSISTANT-SUMMER

Monday – Friday:  6:30am-8:30am

AFTER SCHOOL ASSISTANT-SUMMER

Monday – Friday:  Noon-5:30pm (optional until 7 or 8pm)

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

Full-time positions at the secondary level. Teachers provide academic instruction, life skills/independent living training, and social/emotional support to adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities. Strong emphasis on data driven instruction and meaningful assessment practices. Supportive, collaborative learning and teaching environment.

Requirements:  Licensure in Moderate Disabilities or Special Needs at the high school level; Related experience (experience in an independent school environment preferred); Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills; Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple demands; Passion for Riverview’s mission and the field of special education.
