Students who enroll at Riverview are friendly, caring, and eager to experience fulfillment in all aspects of their lives. They are interested in typical adolescent and young adult pursuits and expect to be challenged in their learning.
Riverview’s curriculum can be compared to “a three-legged stool.” We focus on the development of academics, social emotional skills and independent living skills. No one leg of the stool is more important than another. All are essential for students to maximize their potential, now and in the future.
Riverview students have life-changing experiences in an environment that is designed to embrace them completely. They make friends. They gain a deep feeling of connection. The isolation is broken. Self-esteem flourishes. Students become resilient and redefine themselves. They come into their own.
At Riverview School, we believe in each child’s potential. This commitment guides the ongoing dialogue between academic and residential faculty and parents. Riverview is a place where students belong, and where they develop the tools and skills necessary to become all they can be.
