Social Skills

Children often come to Riverview having experienced failure in school, lack of friendships and poor self-esteem. Riverview helps adolescents build positive relationships, understand emotions and develop self-advocacy skills.

Students have many opportunities to practice their social skills with staff and other students. At Riverview, social skills guidance is the responsibility of every member of the faculty and staff, all of whom are well trained in assisting students in understanding appropriate social interactions.
“Our daughter has loved Riverview from the very start.  It has been the perfect antidote to an extremely disappointing and lonely experience throughout her early education.  The warmth and acceptance that she enjoys here have allowed her to blossom.” -- Parent
