Transition planning services begin junior year and continue throughout senior year. Activities such as community service, resume writing, interviewing and senior autobiographies are woven into the curriculum and help students to identify their interests and develop goals for their future.
A post-secondary fair held on campus in the fall provides information about options after Riverview. In February, families of students age 16 and older are invited to participate in Transition Weekend to explore and learn from former Riverview families and other speakers about a range of issues they will encounter as their child transitions into adult life.
“The emphasis at Riverview is on students’ individual interests and their abilities. Students are empowered with a wealth of developmentally appropriate information on any topic that may be of interest. They are encouraged to dream big.” -- Parent
