GROW Summer

Riverview’s GROW summer program is a five-week co-educational experience. The program is designed to build students’ vocational and independent living skills while reinforcing academics.

Staffed by experienced teachers and residential faculty from Riverview’s school-year program, the summer experience also serves as an ideal experience for students entering GROW for the first time in September to become acquainted with campus life, activities, faculty and peers.

Vocational Training

All students participate in vocational training.  They rotate through five career exploratory fields, where they are exposed to a wide variety of jobs and the skills associated with each position.  At the completion of the program, students are given a Work Exploratory Assessment, which evaluates their performance in the five employment areas.

Activities and Outings

In addition to the hard work, GROW summer is also about adventures and having fun! Students experience summer on Cape Cod by attending professional sporting events, whale watching, beach outings, water parks, kayaking, deep sea fishing and cultural events, such as concerts and plays – typical young adult experiences that allow for the development of social competency.
