Job Training

In 2015 a second Project Search site was added at Cape Cod Hospital.
In this internationally acclaimed work immersion program, students gain authentic experience across a range of hospital departments in preparation for permanent work in the healthcare field. With endowed funds supporting the salaries of additional teachers and job coaches, 61 Riverview students are currently participating in career development internships that will help them secure gainful employment and greater personal well-being.  This is just the beginning of what is possible -- we can do moreRead more here!

"Project Search was an amazing experience for Beryl and prepared her well for entering the job market. Although it took a little while once she returned home to find a position, all of a sudden in the space of a few short weeks she had three job offers! She’s currently working weekends at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital and weekdays at UMass Memorial in housekeeping.

Beryl couldn’t be happier and feels confident that she is making a contribution to the well being of others. We couldn't be prouder of how professionally she's handled herself, her work ethic, stamina, and positive attitude. All her hard work as a participant in the program and the support of the Project Search team enabled her to be employment ready. We know that with further experience she will continue growing her work skills, and that many positive opportunities lie ahead.

We are truly grateful for Beryl’s time at Riverview and believe it has given her the ability to move forward into adult life with self confidence and pride – the goal we have been working towards from the beginning." -- Paula and Neal Rosenblum, Alumni Parents

Stephanie Shorer, VP for Human Resources at Cape Cod Hospital said, “Everyone in HR has derived great satisfaction from seeing the progression of our intern who at first was shy and avoided eye contact, yet over the course of her rotation gradually developed comfort and confidence, fully becoming a member of the department. Employees are sad to not have a Riverview intern for the second rotation.”
