From its founding in 1957 Riverview School has profoundly understood its purpose of providing a unique special learning experience for its students.
Building on the strong foundation and successes of almost five decades, the School now looks to further extend and integrate its mission of caring, teaching and guiding. With the success of the Riverview Future campaign, we will see the pioneering vision of the School’s founders become a newer, stronger reality for future generations of students.
It is often said that the School is like a home and in many ways that is true. However, the School is really more than a home. Riverview is a neighborhood; it is a community. Not only does a student’s experience encompass all aspects of living—academic, social, recreational, residential—the spirit of the School extends to a wider community where people join together to help one another through a shared sense of purpose and mutual support.
The concept of the Riverview campus has evolved to a vision of a village. Through careful long-range planning, the campus draws the resident community together around a central common outdoor area, Davis Field. Buildings are purposely designed to capture the feeling of Cape Cod with appropriate size, shape, materials and rooflines. Indoor and outdoor spaces meet in pleasing and thoughtful ways. Complexity is minimized while simple utility is emphasized. Even the selection of materials and colors respects the Cape Cod heritage.
The Riverview Board of Trustees, staff, parents, students and alumni invite you to join in this extraordinary effort to build the future of this unique extended community. Your leadership and support will ensure the strongest possible experience to provide current and future students an opportunity to build a successful, productive adult life that they might otherwise not have.
