 Kensaku Matsuda serves as the Program Director of Friends Forever, where he oversees daily operations and leads the development of systems that support personalized, meaningful, and engaging experiences for adult participants. In this role, he collaborates closely with Riverview leadership, families, alumni, community partners, and staff to advance the vision of Friends Forever—one grounded in lifelong learning, connection, and opportunity.

Kensaku brings over a decade of experience in inclusive postsecondary education, including five years as a program director and three years as a program supervisor. Prior to joining Friends Forever, he spent 12 years at AHRC New York City, where he supported young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Melissa Riggio Higher Education Programs at Kingsborough and Hostos Community Colleges. His work focused on guiding students through academics, campus life, career exploration, civic engagement, and self-advocacy, while also mentoring staff and managing teams across multiple campuses.

Throughout his career, Kensaku has centered his work on building inclusive academic and career pathways, supporting staff development, and cultivating meaningful relationships with alumni and community partners. Known for his commitment to person-centered practices, thoughtful program design, and collaborative leadership, he is passionate about creating environments where people are empowered to grow, connect, and lead self-directed lives.

Outside of his professional life, Kensaku has a deep interest in fitness education and healthy living, and enjoys spending time at home exploring games and new hobbies.
