more than a classroom
Our thematic, integrated curriculum is designed for students who are diagnosed with a language based learning disorder. Each child’s unique needs are met where they are through tailored instruction. Literature, writing, hands-on history activities, the arts, and field trips and more are all connected to a central theme.
academics & curriculum
Middle School
In middle school, students experience a sense of accomplishment and belonging, as the curriculum encourages meaningful academic, social, and strategic learning. Classes are content-driven, with hands-on learning in an environment designed to support them where they’re at. Talents are celebrated, and students learn the importance of hard work, collaboration, and perseverance.

High School
In high school, students experience a sense of accomplishment and belonging, as the curriculum encourages meaningful academic, social, and strategic learning. Students receive reading and writing instruction every day. They also participate in the core classes (math, history/social studies, sciences) and elective classes daily. Teachers work directly with students to increase not just their knowledge, but also their independence and confidence.
Post-Secondary Education
Riverview’s Post-Secondary GROW program – Getting Ready for the Outside World – supports students in their post-high school life. GROW students enjoy their core academic subjects, but also gain increased social, vocational, and independent living skills that allow them to reach their full potential. Transition services are offered to assist students and their families as they navigate graduation and life after Riverview.

Summer
Riverview’s Summer Program is an ideal opportunity for students to maintain academics and improve their independent living and executive functioning skills, all while enjoying social opportunities with peers on beautiful Cape Cod.
whole student philosophy
Riverview School’s integrated approach to academic instruction, social emotional development, independent living skills, vocational readiness, and wellness provides the foundational components that promote whole student growth. Riverview exists to empower students to maximize their potential and prepare them for lives of purpose, happiness, and independence.
