our belief

The arts are a vital part of the student experience at Riverview, offering a unique way to build confidence, discover talents, and enhance learning. Visual and performing arts are integrated into the academic curriculum at all ages.

arts for all

From improv exercises that teach valuable life and vocational skills to drama classes that reinforce reading and communication, learning is at the core of every art class. For students eager to dive deeper, a range of extracurricular arts opportunities fosters personal interests and meaningful social connections.

Music
A young student sings a solo in the music room as his classmates watch his performance

Music is woven into daily life at Riverview, with opportunities to take music classes, sing, and learn a variety of instruments. For students eager to dive deeper, personal lessons, band, and other musical activities are offered in the afternoons and on weekends.

Dance
Students practice their choreography with their teacher in the school's music room

Dance is both a powerful form of exercise and a meaningful outlet for self-expression. Whether performing on stag or taking a class in the athletic center, students learn foundational skills and are encouraged to dance freely and confidently.

Drama
A play unfolds on stage, with actors and actresses dressed as giraffes, wolves, and other wild animals

Through Riverview’s drama program, students discover new ways to express themselves, build imagination, and develop confidence. All students are welcome to join the chorus and take part in drama productions, where every student is given their chance at center stage.

Visual Arts
A young girl smiles at the camera while sitting at a table to make a beaded bracelet, as her friends work on their own.

Students build a foundation in art through key concepts like proportion, perspective, and color, then explore a variety of visual media. From creating self-portraits in class to participating in art clubs after school, Students are encouraged to express themselves creatively and confidently.

Audio and Visual Tech
A podcaster in sunglasses and a hat smiles at the camera while his cast and crew ready to start the recording

For those who prefer working behind the scenes, Riverview offers hands-on training in setting up, operating, and breaking down the professional equipment used for dances, concerts, and other school events. Students gain experience with our state-of-the-art video cameras, lighting board, and sound systems.

Technology
A teacher watches over his class as they engage with a lesson on laptops in their bright classroom

Students have access to Technology Arts, where they gain hands-on practice with typing, digital file management, and commonly used tools like Google Suite. Creative projects, games, and group activities help reinforce digital literacy while also introducing important topics such as online safety.
