Riverview School Secures Future Housing Opportunities with Irish Village Hotel Purchase

Riverview School, through the donation of a transformational gift, announced it has purchased the Irish Village Hotel in Hyannis. The acquisition is a significant expansion of the Riverview Friends Forever program, addressing the critical need to continue to support this underserved population, providing much-needed long-term, affordable housing for its community and staff.

The purchase of the hotel, which adjoins the Conference Center and golf course previously acquired, will ultimately lead to the creation of apartments. This new development will provide a reliable, supportive, and integrated living environment for the Riverview Friends Forever participants, allowing them to remain connected to their community throughout adulthood.

“This is a transformational milestone for our Riverview Friends Forever program and for the future of its participants,” said Stewart Miller, Executive Director at Riverview School. “This property will not only create affordable housing but also solidify our commitment to creating a lifelong continuum of support.  It is an exciting step forward in ensuring growth and opportunity for adults within their familiar community.”

The initiative is part of a larger plan to develop a new Hyannis campus for the Riverview Friends Forever program, which builds on Riverview School’s existing educational and vocational offerings. This purchase, combined with previous acquisitions, will enable the creation of a vibrant and integrated community with recreational spaces, vocational opportunities, and public-use areas.
