2022 Dream Maker Honoree: Dr. William Greendyke

Riverview School is proud to be honoring Dr. William Greendyke as this year’s Dream Maker. To almost all of us within the Riverview Community, the name rings familiar as we were fortunate enough to have Dr. Greendyke at our side, providing medical direction as it related to the Covid-19 Pandemic over the last two years. He has provided our community with countless hours of his time to help us navigate the evolving landscape of the pandemic, and invaluable consultation to keep our school both OPEN and Safe. Much of that is thanks to Dr. Greendyke’s leadership throughout.

Dr. William Greendyke is an infectious disease physician and epidemiologist living in New York City. After completing medical school in Texas, Dr. Greendyke moved to New York to complete his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Following his training, he remained at Columbia and joined the faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Beginning in 2020, Dr. Greendyke helped lead and coordinate the hospital's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent vaccination rollout. In March 2022, Dr. Greendyke began work at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Medical Epidemiologist with an emphasis in Infection Prevention and Control issues. Since the pandemic began, he has been so encouraged by the work of the entire Riverview community to safely bring students back to campus for in-person instruction and has deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve on the Riverview Medical Advisory Team.
