Fred Poses is the CEO and President of Understood for All. He is the past Chief Executive Officer and Partner of Ascend Performance Materials, a private manufacturer of nylon related chemicals, resins and fibers for commercial and industrial products. He is also managing partner of 32 Laight Street Partners, a private equity company. Prior to Ascend Performance Materials, he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trane Inc. (previously American Standard Companies) where he served from 1999 until June 2008.

From 1998 to 1999, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at Allied Signal where he served in various capacities over his career, beginning in 1969. Fred also spent two years in Peru with the Peace Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from New York University. Fred served as lead director of TE Connectivity Board of Directors and Directors of Raytheon Company and Chesapeake Energy. It’s hard to find Fred wearing shoes other than AllBirds, which his two sons introduced him to when he got his first pair as a birthday present.
