Barb and her husband, Tom live in Sandwich, Massachusetts and have two daughters. Katie is currently in her 8th year as a GROW II student and their younger daughter Emily is currently a senior in high school.

Barb earned both her bachelor’s degree in Political Theory and her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Michigan State University. She worked in higher education settings, including Brandeis University, Boston College and Florida State University before staying home to raise their daughters. She consults for Kaplan Test Prep as a law school admissions counselor which she has been doing for over 20 years. She is also an active community volunteer.

Barb has taken on many roles in her time at Riverview, including Family Association Co-Chair, Annual Fund Class Agent, Mentor for new families and Co-chair of Riverview’s parent-run Gala Committee. Barb has prioritized building an uplifting and supportive family community by forming strong relationships through consistent, informative, and genuine communication. She is grateful to live in such close proximity to campus as she is able to interact with students, staff and families on a regular basis.
