welcome to
the team
At Riverview, physical education and athletics are inclusive, adaptive, and centered around the philosophy of each student achieving their “personal best.” The goal is to emphasize the skills needed for both individual and team sports, encouraging students to challenge themselves while building sportsmanship and self-confidence.

Competitive Team Athletics
Athletic programming for middle and high school students promotes fitness, teamwork, and skill development in both individual and team sports. The athletics program is fully inclusive; any student who commits to a sport can join a team.
Riverview is proud to be a member of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and a Special Olympics Unified Champion School for basketball and track and field, giving students the opportunity to compete and be recognized on a larger scale.

Intramural Athletics
Not into competitive sports? That’s okay! We encourage students to explore athletics however they’re comfortable, offering a number of intramural teams that give them the opportunity to explore what interests them. With a host of drop-in offerings such as pickleball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer, students have the chance to enjoy a team sport without the competitive atmosphere.
Explore athletic opportunities
Athletic opportunities range from intramural and clinics to team sports like basketball. If a student has an interest in something not already offered, we work to make it happen whenever possible.
